Traveling to a distant place or a far one is such an horror to me. It is not because I don't know how to drive a car but because of the danger we may encounter along the way.
Yesterday, at 4:30 am, my wife and I woke up early to prepare for our travel going to Talugtog, Nueva Ecija. It was my second time around. I have to carry a set of furnitures including other stuff to my elder brother's new home. I know it was too heavy for the van (Nissan Serena) to carry the load including my elder Sister, Sister-in-law and a grandson but I opted to go anyway due for a favor. We finished loading at around 5:00 am.
At 5:30, we started tracking the road from Taguig to Nueva Ecija via NLEX & SCTEX highway at 90-125 kph velocity. In that speed, we we're able to reach the place in 3 1/2 hours at 9:00 am. In short, we safely arrived there not knowing that one of the rear tire (right side) was at the tip of explosion because the ply are beginning to be teared apart (I forgot to take a picture). I discovered it when I started to check the tires before we are about to begin our way back home.
Upon returning, I decided to drop by a vulcanizing shop in Guimba, Nueva Ecija to look for a used tire for an immediate replacement. Luckily, a used one (good for nothing) is available for P1000 pesos and I was able to negotiate it for P900 with free mounting. I had no choice but to get it than staying for the night at Nueva Ecija.
Again, we safely arrived home at 9 pm. However, we did bring some vegetables including fresh tomatoes to which we enjoy our dinner. Finally, I said to myself that I would be more careful next time. Thanks God for saving our lives and for being merciful to us.
