When Will Be The End Of The World - 2012?

I just read an articles which seems a puzzle for me. I wonder what will happen in the year 2010 onward. What is the relation of the Mayan calendar with the year 2012? They said that the Mayan will end in the year (2012) and so, that will also be the end of the world. Do you believe?

My faith start to shake. I'm starting to asked myself if I would be ready to go. If that would be the end of our faith, then why not start repenting now. Why am I afraid?

I know there will be end to this world. The Bible has proved a lot of things concerning to come. Even the Prophets of old had prophesied what would happen in these last days. Our forefathers had seen them and warned us to start believing and repent of our sins. Signs were given and more signs will come. But those who are seeking for signs are merely sinners who are keeping that for themselves though not all, for some have faith in God and have walked in His ways.

I'm afraid because my faith is waving, shaking and not constant in the ways of God. Whether the end of the world will come sooner or later, what we should do is be prepared spiritually. We should be steadfast and do that which is right in the sight of our God. Let us reminds ourselves more often that we are commanded to renew our parths and go and serve God. Teach our children to love God and obey his parents.

If that end will come, it only signifies that what the Lord had said he also fulfilled. He doesn't lie and never will! He has given us so much chances but we ignored them. We have read that "He will come as a thief in the night", so let us be watchful indeed. We don't know what time He come and so, the end of this world we can't discern. We can't say to the Lord "don't come yet, gives us another chance". So let us remember always that He came to fulfill everything that is written and or cause to be written.

Let seek the Lord and not afraid.....for He is merciful and just.

Common Visa for ASEAN Countries

Aiming for more investment, our country is pushing for the adoption of a common visa for South East Asian Nation (ASEAN).

Well, I hope this would push through! In fact, as I understand, the purpose behind is to enhance huge opportunities in trade, investments and tourism where members will benefit from it. As explained by the said Bureau of Immigration Commissioner, foreigner can travel freely to ASEAN member-country without the need to secure an entry visa. Certainly, this would be a great opportunity among its people to travel ASEAN countries. But what about some safety measures concerning health and terrorism?

Good if all members will cooperate and participate and that their vision to make one ASEAN community will materialize in 2015 as envisioned by its charter. More jobs will be created and people will be more acquainted with ASEAN neighbors than before.

I hope this will lessen some corrupt practices in our government where they will be subject for critism especially in the processing of papers. Few government agencies are too slow to respond during the processing of papers and a lot of requirements are asked upon individual. Sometimes they just do it to prevent a person from acquiring a visa or may asked someone to make a deal if not caught.

I hope some government official will not take advantage of it to enrich themselves through some corrupt practices!

A Child's Prayer

Yesterday, at 5:00 am, my wife and I were still lying in bed at the 3rd floor when we heard the noise of the wind, so strong as if a strong storm is coming. The wind sounds whistling so I thought of a super typhoon again. It bothered us so much so I decided to take a look outside and see what's happening. I was amazed with what I saw around the terrace, several pots of flowers around has fallen down on the floor and the roof which is made of fibers seems to be taken away by the wind. I'm worried that all roofs will be taken away so I waked up my nephews and my kid to help me tied all the flowers around the cyclone wires and put several extra tents up the fence to prevent the wind from coming over and pull all the roofs away. We hurriedly did it so only one roof was pulled away. We keep on watching as the wind continues to blow its strength. I stared through our surroundings and saw some galvanized roofs pulled away by the wind. No Electricity due to brownout, I think all over the city. Even our neighbors are panicked already! It lasted  for a few hours. Then comes the rains and afterwards it gone away. Then we started to repair the roofs and clean the terrace.

Feeling quite and calm, I go downstairs and cleaned myself. I felt tired. In the afternoon, the kids enjoy playing outside. The Moon appears until midnight so the kids really enjoys the night playing with other kids. I imagined how lonely life is without a light. There was no lights the whole day until the next morning.

Today, I just learn that the Storm, named Mirinae have leave the country. I performed all my works. All is back to normal. This afternoon, my brother's grandson has called and I talked to him in a few moments. He is so close to me that he used to call me Lolo or grandpa. This child is so funny! He used to asked me always about a certain girl whom he had seen one time while he was here in our house whose named is Engkay - one of our neighbor. He told me that he had a crush on her. I laughed at him! Well, this little girl is in fact, looks beautiful. She seems a little older, five years older than my brother's grandson. I cannot imagined how our grandchild, at age five, learned already about having a crush! I never did that at my age! Anyway, it doesn't matter what he feels about having a crush but what matters to me is when he told that he missed me and told me  that he prayed to God to stop the rain so I could fetched him so he could play in our house. "I asked, really!" "And he answered, yes Lolo!"

I sighed in a moment and somehow realized that I forgotten God. A child is really precious in the sight of God. I know God hears his prayer! Thanks God for having such a wonderful child! I was reminded again about God.

Love Thy Parents

Speaking in the simplicity of heart and an open mind, my heart saddened by the situation I've seen concerning my mother. She is already 76 years old yet still striving to live the life she wants to be. Her only wish then is to live until the age of 80.

Such is a longing of an aging mother. Its maybe one of her wish, to live a good old age. But, one thing wearied me is the situation that keep her mentally sick- meaning, most of the time, she thinks about her children though they're old enough and have a family of their own.

I asked, do children think about their parents, too! Being stricken for many years with sickness and body pains, sacrificing all their personal interest and becoming unselfish and provided everything for their children in order to live and achieved a good life, do we really care for them? Parents taught their children much discipline and love and virtue even righteousness. They even showed them the way how to stand on their own feet and use all their strength necessary in bringing their children in the way they wants them to be. Still, how long will they suffer the agony and pain of parenthood?

With all the sacrifices they've made, how many among us do really care about our parents?

When I was still a child, as I remember the early years of our life, I could not really imagine how they reared us! We are composed of ten children, five boys and five girls. My father was just a carpenter and doesn't have much interest in farming so we leave our land and go everywhere to which we can made a living. My father had to leave the country and worked overseas. My mother had to live by the house and care for us. In short, we depended our life on our father alone for our food and sustenance. Along the way, as we grow old enough to help earn money to help our parents in our daily living, we had to worked. Of course, hardships is always part of our life even hunger that we had to live that way.

Families here in the Philippines are composed of many children which ranging from 6-12 even 14. Some are fortunate enough to make a living while others are not. Some lived in abundance and some are not!

Now, each children must understand clearly that we have a personal responsibility not only with our own family but with our parents, too! We owed them so much that in return we must care for them. We must always remember them for without them we'll not be here.We may not be able to give them all the necessities in life but all their basic needs we must provide. These is not all, we must give them a little attention and care for their health. I don't think they will asked for more except for the love and attention. That is the heart and mind of our parents.

We may all possess everything in life even the richest of the earth yet if we neglected them, what kind of child are we? Just imagine ourselves riding on a luxurious car or taking on more vacations of every country we can afford to or dine-in with all the best hotels but what about our parents, that even just a small amount of money we can't afford to give! What kind of fool! Let us not forget that God commanded us to love our father and mother. And if we do "our days shall be prolonged upon the land".

Answer To My Prayer

I knelt to pray when day was done
And prayed, “O” Lord, bless everyone.
Lift from each saddened heart the pain
And let the sick be well again;”

And then I woke another day
And carelessly went on my way.
The whole day long, I did not try
To wipe a tear from any eye;

I did not try to share the load
Of any brother on the road.
I did not even go to see
The sick man just next door to me.

Yet once again when day was done,
I prayed, “O’ Lord bless everyone.”
But as I prayed, into my ear
There came a voice that whispered clear.
“Pause now, my son, before you pray.
Whom have you tried to bless today?
God’s greatest blessing always go
By hands that serve Him here below.”

And then I hid my face and cried,
“Forgive me, God, I have not tried;
but live me live another day
and I will live the way I pray.”
